Monday 10/19 Insider Buying Report: AA, CAL
updated Monday, October 19, 10:33 AMBargain hunters are wise to pay careful attention to insider buying, because although there are many various reasons for an insider to sell a stock, presumably the only reason they would use their hard-earned dollars to make a purchase, is that they expect to make money. Today we look at two noteworthy recent insider buys.
At Alcoa (AA), a filing with the SEC revealed that on Friday, Director Ratan Tata purchased 4,555 shares of AA, for a cost of $9.50 each, for a total investment of $43,251. Alcoa is trading off about 0.3% on the day Monday. Before this latest buy, Tata made one other purchase in the past twelve months, buying $44,725 shares at a cost of $13.14 a piece.
And at Caleres (CAL), there was insider buying on Thursday, by Director Lori Greeley who purchased 1,000 shares at a cost of $31.09 each, for a total investment of $31,090. This buy marks the first one filed by Greeley in the past twelve months. Caleres is trading up about 1.6% on the day Monday.
